GOD’S PIT CREW SENDS SEMI-LOADS OF RELIEF SUPPLIES TO MULTIPLE STATES FOLLOWING MEMORIAL DAY STORM OUTBREAK

DANVILLE, VA. (May 30, 2024) – The recent Memorial Day weekend saw an outbreak of severe weather sweeping through many central and southeast states. The deadly storm system caused over 20 fatalities and left a wide path of destroyed structures, damaged homes, and thousands of people without electricity.

The damage is immense in so many areas, leaving residents saying their communities are now “unrecognizable.” On Sunday, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, as well as Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, announced State of Emergency notices for both states following widespread damage.

Pallets of Blessing Buckets – which are five-gallon buckets containing non-perishable food, water, hygiene items, first-aid kits, Bibles, and handwritten notes of encouragement – were shipped from God’s Pit Crew Virginia-based headquarters to Madisonville, Kentucky, and Rogers, Arkansas, to aid in relief efforts. These supplies will be delivered to ministries serving their communities during this difficult time.

With multiple volunteer crews currently assisting with relief efforts following a deadly windstorm in Houston, Texas, earlier this month, God’s Pit Crew continues to provide hope to as many disaster victims as possible.

“These back-to-back disasters are leaving so many people in horrible conditions, and our volunteers are working hard to help not only clean up the devastation, but provide hope that they’ll make it through this hard time,” shared Chris Chiles, God’s Pit Crew Immediate Disaster Response Coordinator.

God’s Pit Crew Chief Operating Officer, Brandon Nuckles, shared an update about the ministry’s ongoing efforts saying, “Unfortunately during this holiday weekend, our country has continued to be ravaged by storm after storm. In the past month, we’ve seen destruction in multiple states, and we’ve seen what it is doing to these communities. It is devastating these families.”

“We ask that you join us in praying for the families that have been affected by so much devastation. It is absolutely horrific. We believe that God is going to continue to provide the resources we need through our partners and incredible volunteers so that we can continue to go out and make a difference in these hurting communities,” continued Nuckles. “We can’t do this without people like you. People who step up and volunteer, pray for our teams, and continue to donate so we can make a positive impact in lives that need it most.”

As the ministry looks to restock their inventory of Blessing Buckets to keep responding and providing the much-needed materials to survivors, anyone interested in sponsoring a Blessing Bucket – which cost $35 per bucket to fill – or to support their ongoing immediate disaster response efforts is encouraged to visit GodsPitCrew.org or call (434) 836-4472.
