GOD’S PIT CREW AND WORLD HELP OF FOREST, VIRGINIA, HOST INTERNATIONAL BLESSING BUCKET ASSEMBLY TO PROVIDE HUMANITARIAN AID AROUND THE WORLD
DANVILLE, VA. (November 13, 2023) – God’s Pit Crew and World Help — a Christian humanitarian organization serving the physical and spiritual needs of impoverished communities around the world — recently joined together for a special assembly event filling International Blessing Buckets with much needed emergency supplies. Volunteers from World Help joined God’s Pit Crew to fill five-gallon Blessing Buckets with humanitarian aid items. Each packed bucket includes six adult-sized and four child-sized shirts, children’s underwear, four pairs of flip flops, a backpack filled with school supplies (pens, pencils, paper, notebook, coloring book, and crayons), blanket, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hat, and several additional items.
The International Packing Event was held in conjunction with World Help’s annual Serve the World Day, which commemorates the passing of an extraordinary World Help team member. “Patrick Shaw was a champion for Christ and the kind of man who truly made a difference that will outlive him and last for eternity. During his time working at World Help, Patrick showed love to every staff member, donor, and volunteer he came in contact with,” shared the organization. “He helped ship lifesaving supplies to thousands of people around the world. Even when he was battling cancer, he was always eager to come to work and serve.”
As a way to honor Shaw’s legacy, World Help encourages people to volunteer each year on the special date in November, and God’s Pit Crew was grateful to be part of this year’s day of servitude. Natural disasters and the threat of major crisis have seemingly increased all around the world, and daily there are alerts of impending severe weather, earthquakes, potential flooding, and many other threats. The International Packing Event is unique as the International Blessing Buckets are specifically designed for Humanitarian Aid. After being packed with resources that families and recipients do not have direct access to, these buckets are sent to severely impoverished countries.
This mobile International Blessing Bucket assembly was held on Friday, November 10, at World Help headquarters in Forest, Virginia. The team of volunteers assembled by World Help used the specially designed mobile assembly lines to gather the buckets and fill them with items that will help provide hope and help to those in desperate times of need.
This event marked the fifth International Blessing Bucket packing event that World Help and God’s Pit Crew have partnered together to accomplish. Together, the two ministries were able to fill 1,920 International Blessing Buckets that will soon be shipped to Peru for future aid.
God’s Pit Crew President Randy Johnson explained the importance of the buckets stating, “To people in need, these are possibly the only belongings they have in their possession. In the physical, it’s a five- gallon bucket filled with essential supplies to help them get through a very difficult time in their lives. In the emotional, it’s a hug from a stranger to encourage and let them know they are not alone.”
With frequent disasters seeming to happen with little time in between, God’s Pit Crew is thankful for all supporters who donate and volunteer to assemble Blessing Buckets that are ready to be distributed without haste when times of turmoil strike.
Since the beginning of the year, God’s Pit Crew has responded to 12 disaster situations throughout the country and delivered 74 tractor-trailer loads of relief supplies to disaster victims including over 20,000 Blessing Buckets.
