GOD’S PIT CREW DEDICATES NEW TRUCK MAINTENANCE GARAGE AT SPECIAL RIBBON CUTTING EVENT
DANVILLE, VA. (April 27, 2024) – Virginia-based, nonprofit God’s Pit Crew dedicated its new Truck Maintenance Garage on Saturday, April 27, with a special ribbon cutting ceremony.
The dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony saw numerous local officials in attendance, along with God’s Pit Crew staff, volunteers, and many donors who sowed into the project throughout its course of being planned and built. Several of the ministry’s vehicles were on display for viewing during the event, as well.
God’s Pit Crew’s fleet of response vehicles and equipment is a crucial factor in their ability to respond to major natural disaster scenarios across the nation. With the installation of the new truck maintenance garage, the organization can now complete needed repairs and maintenance upkeep in an efficient and cost saving way at their main headquarters – allowing the fleet to remain ready to swiftly respond to disasters.
2024 marks 25 years of service for God’s Pit Crew and as the organization celebrates this silver, quarter-century milestone, they continue to reflect on the countless miracles and unbelievable growth the ministry has experienced.
God’s Pit Crew Founder and President Randy Johnson reflected on the first response effort in 1999, which consisted of a group of friends with borrowed trucks and trailers traveling to aid tornado victims in Oklahoma.
“We were on a mission to serve, but didn’t fully grasp at the time all of the miracles that God would place before us,” shared Johnson. “We are so blessed that He has empowered us to serve others for His glory.”
The vision and completion of the newly finished truck maintenance garage was made possible by numerous donations and grants to the ministry for this specific campaign. Vice President of Advancement Operations Rhonda Zola shared how thankful the ministry is for the many donors and partners that filled this need.
“God’s Pit Crew is honored to be the hands and feet of extending hope, healing, and restoration to hurting people, but each person who donates and supports our mission is the reason that we can do what we do – and we definitely couldn’t do it without each of them,” shared Zola. “This journey of our miracle garage has reiterated God’s purpose and plan for the future of God’s Pit Crew.”
