GOD’S PIT CREW EXTENDS ADDITIONAL RELIEF EFFORTS TO TEXAS PANHANDLE TO AID VICTIMS OF LARGEST WILDFIRE ON RECORD
DANVILLE, VA. (March 11, 2024) – An additional load of much-needed relief supplies provided by God’s Pit Crew will soon be in route to the Texas Panhandle as the state continues to battle the deadly Smokehouse Creek Wildfire. As state officials work to contain the catastrophic blaze, residents of the area are now faced with recovering what is left of their homes and farmland.
A second semi-load containing pallets of bottled water, Gatorade, additional relief supplies, and Blessing Buckets – which are five-gallon buckets containing non-perishable food, water, hygiene items, first-aid kits, Bibles, and handwritten notes of encouragement – is being delivered to First Southern Baptist Church in Fritch, Texas. Once there, the supplies will be distributed by officials in the area.
After being in constant contact with partners in the Texas Panhandle, God’s Pit Crew’s Immediate Disaster Response team will also be deploying a team of volunteers and equipment to assist the area. This team will help clear debris and demolish any structures affected by the wildfire. Volunteers will depart for Celebration Family Church in Fritch, Texas, on Wednesday, March 13, with plans to remain and serve the area until Sunday, March 24.
“We continue to pray for everyone who has been affected by the horrifying scene out in Texas” remarked Randy Johnson, God’s Pit Crew President. “We hope our efforts and materials not only help the victims as they move to recover, but also the first responders and all those who are working hard to contain this situation.”
This response comes on the heels of the initial efforts only a week ago when God’s Pit Crew sent its first semi-load of supplies to Amarillo, Texas.
