GOD’S PIT CREW “HOLIDAY RELIEF MISSION” TOY DRIVES TO BENEFIT WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA
DANVILLE, VA. (November 14, 2024) – As part of God’s Pit Crew’s Holiday Relief Mission – an initiative serving those working to recover from Hurricane Helene’s disastrous impact in Western North Carolina – multiple toy drives will be held throughout December, as well. The toy drive events will allow children to select Christmas toys as a way to provide hope amidst the devastation they have experienced for more than a month now.
The holiday season is in full swing for many, but thousands of families are still struggling to mend their lives back together after losing everything to the tragic storm. God’s Pit Crew is fundraising to fill two tractor-trailers with Christmas toys and gifts for the Holiday Relief Mission Toy Drives taking place in several North Carolina mountain communities.
All monetary donations made to the Holiday Relief Mission Toy Drives will go toward filling the ministry’s big, red trucks with toys for children in Western North Carolina. Anyone interested in donating funds to the Holiday Relief Mission Toy Drives can do so by visiting GodsPitCrew.org and clicking the “Toy Drive” button at the top of the screen. Monetary donations given to this initiative will allow God’s Pit Crew to effectively and efficiently gather toys and truck them into the affected areas.
“Holiday Relief Mission will be a powerful way to come together and serve others in need – providing hope and love when it has seemed so distant over the past month,” shared God’s Pit Crew President Randy Johnson. “We pray to help as many people impacted by Helene as possible, and we rely on the donors and volunteers who act as the main heartbeats of the ministry to keep fueling us forward.”
Monetary donations for the Holiday Relief Mission Toy Drives will be accepted through December 3 in order to allow crew members ample time to gather, load, and deliver the toys.
Along with the Holiday Relief Mission Toy Drives, God’s Pit Crew’s Immediate Disaster Response Team will travel to Asheville, North Carolina, on Sunday, November 17, with plans for the crew to remain through Saturday, December 7. Volunteers will assist homeowners in surrounding communities with flood cleanup, mold remediation, structure demolition, and damaged tree and debris removal.
