GOD’S PIT CREW SENDING MUCH NEEDED RELIEF SUPPLIES TO TEXAS PANHANDLE IN MIDST OF DEADLY WILDFIRE OUTBREAK

DANVILLE, VA. (March 2, 2024) – Relief efforts provided by God’s Pit Crew will soon be on the way to the Texas Panhandle to aid in the ongoing deadly wildfire outbreak ravaging the state.  The Smokehouse Creek fire recently grew and is now encroaching over one million acres of land, and is only 3% contained at this time according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.

A full semi-load of Blessing Buckets, which are five-gallon buckets containing non-perishable food, water, hygiene items, first-aid kits, Bibles, and handwritten notes of encouragement, will soon depart the God’s Pit Crew warehouse in Danville, Virginia, and travel nearly 1,500 miles west to Amarillo, Texas.  The supplies will be delivered to Encounter Church Amarillo and be distributed by officials in the area to anyone in need.

Along with the Blessing Buckets, pallets of Gatorade and bottled water will also be included in the relief supply delivery.  “So many homes have been destroyed and many residents have had to evacuate leaving behind everything to escape the approaching fire” remarked Chris Chiles, God’s Pit Crew Immediate Disaster Response Coordinator.  “We are praying for all those who have been impacted and pray that we can provide help as soon as possible to those desperately in need.”

God’s Pit Crew President, Randy Johnson, says he hopes that the relief supplies being sent will be a way to bring hope and healing to the state.  “The continuing wildfires have been devastating and heartbreaking to hear about,” stated Johnson.  “We pray that the help and supplies our ministry is sending will bring much needed relief to all those affected, and we truly appreciate all of our unwavering volunteers and donors that make our response possible.”

As the ministry looks to restock their inventory of Blessing Buckets to keep responding and providing the much-needed materials to survivors, anyone interested in sponsoring a Blessing Bucket – which cost $35 per bucket to fill – or to support their ongoing immediate disaster response efforts is encouraged to visit GodsPitCrew.org or call (434) 836-4472.

In the past year, God’s Pit Crew responded to 13 major disaster situations throughout the country and delivered more than 83 tractor-trailer loads of relief to disaster victims, including over 20,300 Blessing Buckets.
