NEW HOME FOR HELENE SURVIVORS IN WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA BEING BUILT BY GOD’S PIT CREW

DANVILLE, VA. (April 1, 2025) – God’s Pit Crew is delivering hope, healing, and restoration as they deploy to Marion, North Carolina, to rebuild a home for the Greene family who tragically lost everything in the wake of Hurricane Helene.

A team of God’s Pit Crew staff and volunteers left headquarters in Danville, Virginia, on Sunday, March 30, to travel to Marion, North Carolina, with all the materials needed to rebuild and fully-furnish a new home for Brian and Melissa Greene who have been displaced since the devastating storm six months ago. The volunteer team plans to remain until Thursday, April 10, with the home reveal tentatively slated for Thursday morning.

The Greene family’s home and land were completely swept away when landslides triggered by the flooding from Hurricane Helene devastated the area. The family narrowly escaped by climbing out of a window, but their property was ultimately carried off the mountainside by the powerful slides.

This rebuild project is part of God’s Pit Crew’s commitment to provide 25 brand new homes in areas still recovering from the impact of Hurricane Helene – Western North Carolina, East Tennessee, and Southwest Virginia. All homes are being provided at no cost to the families and individuals receiving them.

God’s Pit Crew President Randy Johnson says that the ministry is grateful for everyone who makes projects like this possible through their generosity and support.

“A historic storm like Helene called for a historic response, and our ministry is only able to do that thanks to the care and support being shown to our group,” remarked Johnson. “Projects like this wouldn’t be possible if not for the amazing volunteers, donors, and supporters that answer the call to provide hope in what may seem like hopeless times.”

In addition to the efforts of the ministry’s rebuild branch, disaster response volunteers have recently provided vital aid to areas impacted by severe flash flooding, tornado damage, and wildfires across eight different states.

News and media teams are invited to attend and cover the presentation of the Greene’s new home. Finalized reveal times will be announced closer to the reveal date.
