GOD’S PIT CREW DISPATCHES RELIEF SUPPLIES TO ZANESVILLE, OHIO, FOLLOWING FLASH FLOODING
DANVILLE, VA. (August 12, 2026) – When floodwaters recede, the uncertainty often remains. For families in and around Zanesville, Ohio, recovering from recent flash flooding, God’s Pit Crew is helping bring some immediate relief by dispatching a tractor-trailer filled with essential supplies to the community.
The shipment, leaving the ministry’s headquarters in Danville, Virginia, is headed to Zanesville to help provide families and individuals with necessities as they face the difficult days of cleanup and recovery ahead. Local partners will assist with getting these resources into the hands of those who need them most.
Among the supplies making the trip are the ministry’s signature Blessing Buckets, each packed with more than 30 cleaning and hygiene essentials and a Bible. The truck will also carry children’s Play Pails, specially assembled with hygiene items, books, games, stuffed animals and other activities designed to offer comfort and encouragement to children whose lives have been disrupted by disaster.
Recognizing that recovery is about more than cleaning up a damaged home, God’s Pit Crew is also sending specially sealed food boxes containing a variety of shelf-stable food staples, helping families and individuals have food available during the days of uncertainty that can follow a disaster. Bottled water, other bottled hydrating drinks, and additional relief supplies will round out the shipment.
“When a flood hits a community, the impact doesn’t end when the water goes down,” said God’s Pit Crew Vice President of Operations, Jarrett Johnson.
“Families are left facing cleanup, uncertainty and a long road ahead. We want them to know that they are not facing it alone. This truck is one way we can come alongside the community and provide some of what they need while they begin putting the pieces back together.”
The shipment to Ohio comes as God’s Pit Crew continues a season of sustained disaster response across the country. With multiple relief efforts either actively underway or recently completed, the nonprofit ministry has been assisting communities impacted by flooding, tornadoes, wildfires and other disasters in multiple states throughout the year.
In 2026 alone, God’s Pit Crew has responded to more than 10 major disasters, mobilizing volunteers, equipment, and relief supplies wherever the ministry has been called to serve. At the same time, the ministry’s Building Team continues its work beyond immediate response, constructing new homes for families whose lives have been drastically impacted by disaster.
20 new homes have been provided to disaster survivors so far this year, with additional homes currently in progress and more scheduled to be completed in the months ahead. From the first hours following a disaster to the long-term process of rebuilding a home and a life, God’s Pit Crew remains committed to walking alongside communities through recovery.
