GOD’S PIT CREW AND SOUTH BOSTON SPEEDWAY READY TO DISTRIBUTE FOOD TO FAMILIES IN NEED

DANVILLE, VA. (August 24, 2026) – God’s Pit Crew, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping families and individuals during great times of need, is partnering again with South Boston Speedway to distribute 1,000 food boxes filled with essential food staples to local residents.

The Food Box Distribution is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (or while supplies last) at South Boston Speedway (1188 James D. Hagood Hwy, South Boston, VA 24592).

This initiative is designed to support anyone in need who may benefit from nonperishable food staples. Community members are invited to pick up one food box per family in addition to a case of drinks at this drive-through event. A maximum of two families may be represented per vehicle, and a representative must be present from each family.

Each 25-pound food box will contain essential items to help families in need, including but not limited to shelf-stable foods such as canned goods, pasta, beans, snack foods, and much more. The goal is to provide immediate assistance to households in Southside Virginia and surrounding areas.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to partner again with South Boston Speedway to serve families right here in our region,” shared God’s Pit Crew President Randy Johnson. “Our prayer is that each family who comes through will not just receive supplies but also experience hope and have a burden lifted from their shoulders.”

Families in need are encouraged to drive through the designated distribution area at South Boston Speedway during the event hours to receive their food boxes. No pre-registration is required, and the event is open to all residents of South Boston, Halifax County, and all surrounding areas.

“South Boston Speedway is deeply committed to serving our surrounding community,” remarked South Boston Speedway General Manager, Brandon Brown.

“We’re honored to be able to welcome local neighbors to the Speedway for an event that will impact so many families.”

The ongoing partnership between God’s Pit Crew and South Boston Speedway highlights the community spirit and commitment to giving back to the surrounding region.

Media personnel are invited to attend and capture this Food Box Distribution event. More information will be shared closer to the event date.

For more information regarding the distribution event scheduled for September 19, further details are available by calling (434) 836-4472 and speaking with a God’s Pit Crew representative.
