GOD’S PIT CREW AND MARTINSVILLE SPEEDWAY JOIN TOGETHER TO MAKE A POSITIVE IMPACT

DANVILLE, VA. (November 16, 2023) – The partnership between God’s Pit Crew and Martinsville Speedway is long-lived, and the two organizations recently came together once more to create a lasting impact for others in need. Martinsville Speedway staff members visited God’s Pit Crew’s Danville, Virginia, based headquarters on November 15 to take part in NASCAR’s IMPACT Day initiative.

NASCAR IMPACT Day – a new initiative reflective of the company’s commitment to volunteerism and providing opportunities for NASCAR employees to give back – allows all NASCAR locations and their employees to take part in group service projects benefitting local charitable organizations. God’s Pit Crew was thrilled to provide a way for close-by Martinsville Speedway team members to help serve others in need. On Wednesday, volunteers came together to make a positive impact by framing a three-bedroom house that will soon be provided to a family who lost everything.

The volunteers, many who had no prior carpentry experience, were able to work alongside God’s Pit Crew team members to frame the entire house in just over five hours. During their time spent together, volunteers not only learned new skills and experienced valuable team-bonding, but they ultimately completed a very important step in God’s Pit Crew’s home rebuilding process. The home that was framed by the Martinsville Speedway group will be transported to Rolling Fork, Mississippi, where another group of volunteers will finish and fully-furnish the home for a family who lost their home and all their possessions during a deadly tornado outbreak earlier this year.

“We lost nearly everything. We had no clue how we were going to get a place to live, when that would ever happen, or even how we would buy a house full of furniture,” shared Pastor Williams when recounting everything he, his wife, and two children had endured. “We just kept trusting God to take care of us, and He has and continues to do so. He is always faithful.”

This framing project comes just shortly after the speedway and ministry partnered together to provide pallets of Gatorade and bottled water to first responder agencies all across the surrounding region. These donations were provided to fire, EMS, and police agencies as a way to aid their workers as they continue to help their respective areas in times of great need.
