GOD’S PIT CREW SENDING MUCH-NEEDED SUPPLIES TO PERRYTON, TEXAS, AFTER DESTRUCTIVE TORNADO TEARS THROUGH TOWN

DANVILLE, VA. (June 17, 2023) – Relief efforts provided by God’s Pit Crew will soon be on the way to the small town of Perryton, Texas, following catastrophic damage left behind from a tornado which ravaged the area late Thursday afternoon leaving behind hundreds of damaged homes and loss of life.

A full semi-load of Blessing Buckets, which are five-gallon buckets containing non-perishable food, water, hygiene items, first-aid kits, Bibles, and handwritten notes of encouragement, will soon be leaving the God’s Pit Crew warehouse in Danville, Virginia, and traveling 1,400 miles to the small Texas town.  Once there, the supplies will be distributed at the Community Worship Center by volunteers with the Mercy Chefs organization.

Along with the Blessing Buckets, Play Pails assembled specifically for children will also be on-hand.  The Play Pails contain toys and activities, hygiene products, water, snack foods, and other essential items that are carefully chosen to help care for a child’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs after a natural disaster.  A recent grant provided to God’s Pit Crew by The NASCAR Foundation, a charity whose mission is to improve the lives of children who need it most in communities across the nation, made it possible to have over 1,000 Play Pails already assembled and ready for distribution.

Early Friday morning, God’s Pit Crew’s Immediate Response Coordinator, Chris Chiles, was able to speak with an official onsite of the tornado and learn the severity of the situation.  “It’s just complete devastation,” remarked Chiles.  “Power lines are down, trees are down, and this town sadly appears like it’s been wiped off the map.”

God’s Pit Crew hopes that the relief supplies being sent will help the people of Perryton remember that they are not alone in this dark time, though.  “People across the world are praying for everyone affected by this tornado,” said Randy Johnson, president of God’s Pit Crew.  “Our organization and ministry is blessed that God works through us to assist in these difficult times.”

Since the beginning of the year, God’s Pit Crew has responded to seven disaster situations throughout the country and delivered over 10,000 Blessing Buckets to disaster victims.
