Our Immediate Response Team deployed on December 13, 2021 and worked for 10 days to help survivors of the storm. Our volunteers and staff helped to cut trees, remove debris, and tarp roofs. Emergency supplies, including water, Gatorade, ice, snacks, tarps, and disinfecting wipes, plus Blessing Buckets filled with food, personal and hygiene items, and a Bible, were also distributed.
God’s Pit Crew responded to Hurricane Ida in Louisiana by shipping 23 tractor-trailer loads of relief supplies and thousands of Blessing Buckets to help Ida victims. GPC’s Immediate Response Team also deployed to the hardest-hit areas in Louisiana for five weeks, clearing fallen trees, moving debris, tarping roofs, and so much more.
A large tree had fallen on the home of George, an 82-year-old Veteran, who lived in Thibodaux, Louisiana. When God’s Pit Crew’s Volunteer Assessors found him, George was trying to remove this tree by himself with only a hand saw. God’s Pit Crew added this job to the list, and within no time, Hope had arrived!
