GOD’S PIT CREW TO PROVIDE TOYS TO TENNESSEE TORNADO VICTIMS; ORGANIZATION’S IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TEAM ALREADY DEPLOYED
CLARKSVILLE, TN (December 13, 2023) – God’s Pit Crew’s Immediate Response Team deployed to Clarksville, Tennessee, earlier this week to help victims of recent devastating tornadoes, while also sending initial emergency relief supplies.
Now, with a disaster that struck just before Christmas, the ministry is set to provide Christmas toys to children in the Clarksville area.
“A disaster at any time is devastating for families, but right before Christmas makes it even worse, especially on the younger members of the family,” remarked Randy Johnson, God’s Pit Crew President. “Our team had it on our hearts to try to quickly return some small sense of holiday normalcy to these families and, thank God, we have been blessed to do just that for some of the children impacted by the recent storms.”
God’s Pit Crew has already purchased a tractor-trailer load of toys and will be delivering them to the disaster area soon — just in time for Christmas. More information on how and where families can receive a toy will be shared at a later date once the toys have arrived in the Clarksville region.
“Our organization is so thankful for those who support us and allow us to help others,” said Johnson. “We are only able to do what we do because of the generosity of our donors, partners, and volunteers.”
The God’s Pit Crew Immediate Response Team that arrived in Clarksville this week is planning to remain in the area until Saturday, December 23. Volunteers are currently tarping roofs, removing damaged trees and debris, and doing full home demolitions. The Immediate Response Team is staged at Trenton Crossing Church, 2650 Trenton Road, Clarksville, Tennessee 37040.
In the wake of this disaster, the ministry is looking to restock their inventory of Blessing Buckets to keep responding and providing the much-needed relief supplies to survivors.
