Grace Harbor Lighthouse Rebuild Project | Lake Charles, Louisiana

Lake Charles area was devastated by two Category 4 Hurricanes when Laura and Delta made landfall within just a couple of weeks of each other.

God’s Pit Crew worked with Grace Harbor Lighthouse Church, in Lake Charles, immediately after Hurricane Laura.  Grace Harbor was dealt a tremendous blow by the devastating wind event that took place but they became a BEACON OF HOPE and HEALING in the outskirts of Lake Charles as they continued their ministry to hurting people who were affected by the storm.  Not only did they serve as a feeding station and food/tarp distribution center, but they housed multiple ministries with dozens of volunteers that came to the area to help. One of those ministries was God’s Pit Crew Crisis Response Team from Danville, Virginia, which spent nearly 2 weeks tarping roofs, cutting trees, and removing debris.

Our volunteers returned to Lake Charles in June 2021, to begin the two-week process of rebuilding Grace Harbor Lighthouse.  Volunteers worked through obstacles and extreme heat to rebuild this church for the residents of Lake Charles!
